Welcome to the Stoney Middleton Well Dressing website. We aim to maintain & promote the custom of Well Dressing for present & future generations. Our Well Dressing Week incorporates a week of varied activities for all ages, these include a treasure hunt, model boat race, quizzes, brass band, children’s events, sports events & fell race to name but a few. 

Profits from Well Dressing Week are ploughed back into the village community with grants being awarded to local organisations.    

Stoney Middleton Well Dressing was started in 1936 by Ted Shimwell and our well dressings consists of 3 wells.

• Main Well Dressing: on The Nook, near St Martin’s Church.
• Children’s Well Dressing at the entrance to a house on The Nook, next to the Main Well Dressing.
• Bath House Gardens Well Dressing: Follow the Nook around to the spring near the old Roman Baths.
